كان إنتر ميامي، بقيادة النجم ليونيل ميسي، قد أصبح بطلًا للقسم الشرقي بعدما فاز على نيويورك سيتي بخمسة أهداف مقابل هدف.

Cal Raleigh's 2025 Home Run Derby win was a family affair.

The Mariners catcher, who leads MLB with 38 home runs this season, had his father Todd throw pitches to him and his 15-year-old brother Todd Jr. catch for him behind the plate.

Raleigh credited his family after his Derby win, and gave a special shout out to his younger brother for "hyping him up" during his performance. Raleigh finished with hitting 54 total home runs on Monday night.

"Honestly he was hyping me up," Raleigh said. "He was firing me up the whole time. I'd hit one good and he'd be like 'Let's go!' And, I don't know, it just got me going, and I think that's why I got good spurts during the Derby."

ESPN's Jeff Passan then asked Todd Jr. what it was like having the best view in Truist Park during his brother's performance, and he responded with one simple word: "Greatness."

Raleigh shared in his post-Derby interview on ESPN that he might gift his brother a new car for when he turns 16 as a thank you for participating in the Derby with him. What a generous big brother.

Raleigh competed against Tampa Bay Rays infielder Junior Caminero in the Derby final. Raleigh went first and crushed 18 homers, while Caminero fell short with 15 home runs in the final round. Raleigh became the first catcher and switch hitter to win the Derby.

The Washington Nationals selected shortstop Eli Willits out of Fort Cobb-Broxton high school in Fort Cobb, Okla. with the No. 1 pick in the MLB draft Sunday.

Willits, 17, was the fifth-ranked prospect and second-ranked position player per MLB Pipeline's rankings. He's a switch-hitter who can have plenty of long-term upside for the Nationals as they work to reset after their recent turnover with the firings of general manager Mike Rizzo and manager Dave Martinez. Previous assistant GM Mike DeBartolo took over as interim GM.

Willits committed to play college ball at the University of Oklahoma where his father, Reggie, coaches and his older brother, Jaxon, plays. As this year's top pick, Willits is unlikely to play for the Sooners per MLB.com.

As a top-ranked prospect and the youngest player in the class, it's not outrageous that the Nationals went for Willits at No. 1. However, the general consensus was that Washington would go for either LSU pitcher Kade Anderson or top-ranked prospect Ethan Holliday out of Stillwater (Okla.) HS. The Seattle Mariners took Anderson No. 3 and the Colorado Rockies, Holliday's dad Matt's old team, selected him with the fourth pick.

A grande aposta para essa temporada se chama Jan Hurtado. O atacante, de 24 anos, chega à equipe equatoriana, emprestado pelo Boca Juniors. O empréstimo chega ao final no dia 30 de junho, porém a LDU deve pagar 900 mil Euros, para ficar com o atleta, em definitivo.

Hurtado surgiu como uma promessa no Boca Juniors, mas acabou não vingando como o esperado. O mesmo teve uma passagem apagada pelo RB Bragantino e agora tenta reencontrar o seu futebol na equipe equatoriana.

JUNIOR DE BARRANQUILLA

O Junior de Barranquila conta com mais destaques individuais. Na linha de meio, a equipe colombiana conta com a volta de Cantillo, ex-jogador do Corinthians, que voltou ao clube em que se destacou, após três temporadas sem conseguir se firmar no Brasil.

No setor ofensivo, o clube conta com o folclórico Yimmi Chára, que atuou pelo Atlético Mineiro, em 2018 e 2019, e com o craque Carlos Bacca. O experiente centroavante, de 37 anos, já passou por grandes clubes europeus como: Villareal, Sevilla e Milan. O mesmo também disputou as copas de 2014 e 2018 e sem dúvidas é a grande esperança de gols da equipe.

O Universitario, assim como, a LDU também não conta com muitos destaques individuais na sua equipe. O time deposita todas as suas fichas em Edison Flores. O ponta esquerda, que chegou em 2023, disputou a Copa D Mundo da Rússia, em 2018, e estava em campo na final da Copa América, em 2019, no Brasil.

It’s clear, for example, that the Reds need a centre-back. Unless anything changes between now and the summer, Liverpool will lose Ibrahima Konate on a free deal following the end of his contract. That will leave them with just three senior centre-backs – Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk and young Giovanni Leoni.

Given that Van Dijk is on course to leave in 2027, Gomez is injury-prone and Leoni will be coming off the back of his own lengthy spell on the sidelines, those at Anfield are likely to turn towards the market for reinforcement in that area.

On that front, Marc Guehi is still a name that Liverpool will reportedly look to sign after coming within hours of securing his arrival in the summer. This time around, however, they’ll need backup options with the Crystal Palace defender also attracting interest from the likes of Real Madrid as his contract ticks down.

Before then, Edwards and Hughes have reportedly set their sights on the future of Slot’s side with reports suggesting that Liverpool have submitted an offer to sign an impressive young duo.

Liverpool submit offer to sign Palmer twins

As reported by The Boot Room’s Graeme Bailey, Liverpool have now submitted an offer to sign Anton and Bailey Palmer. The 16-year-old twins have recently announced their decision to leave Middlsborough and have not been short of options ever since.

Alongside Liverpool, they’ve reportedly received offers from Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur. To say that they’ve got a big decision to make would be a major understatement.

Both are incredibly impressive young players. Anton, a midfield gem, pushed through at Boro to make two appearances in the Premier League 2, whilst Bailey – also a midfielder – has received comparisons to Aston Villa’s Rogers.

After winning the race to sign Salford’s Will Wright in the summer, Liverpool should push all the way to beat Man City and others to sign the Palmer twins.

Shea Lacey has been “tearing it up” in Manchester United training, leaving Ruben Amorim impressed, following a behind-the-scenes change from the manager.

Amorim has been blending youth with experience in his starting XI so far this season, with the likes of Amad Diallo and Leny Yoro emerging as regular starters, alongside Casemiro, and the Brazilian midfielder has enjoyed a resurgence.

At the moment, the manager seems to have found the right balance, as United have won three games on the spin in the Premier League, and their summer signings have been particularly impressive, with Bryan Mbeumo scoring a brace against Brighton & Hove Albion last time out.

Given that Matheus Cunha is also now off the mark, it may be difficult for any other forwards to force their way into starting contention, but a youngster has started impressing in first-team training…

Lacey impressing Amorim in Man Utd training

As reported by GiveMeSport, Amorim has made a behind-the-scenes change by introducing more and more youth players to first-team training, with the manager eager to restore the link between the academy and the senior squad.

The 40-year-old wants youngsters to start pushing for places in the first team, and Lacey, an 18-year-old winger, has been impressing staff and teammates, with one source saying: “He’s been tearing it up – fearless, creative, and always looking to make something happen. He’s really caught the eye.”

Amorim has personally taken notice of the starlet, and there is a feeling he could be introduced to the match-day squad before the end of the campaign if he maintains his current standard.

Bringing through youth players is in United’s DNA, with the ‘Class of 92’ famously going on to play a major role in Man United’s dominance of English football during the Sir Alex Ferguson era.

As such, it is always good to see youngsters progress through the ranks, and the Liverpool-born winger is held in high regard by scout Jacek Kulig, who singled the Englishman out for praise after his debut for the Three Lions U17 side.

Not only has Lacey impressed in first-team training, but he is also off to a flying start in the Premier League 2 this season, picking up two goals and an assist in his opening four games.

With Mbeumo and Cunha impressing, the England U20 international may find it tricky to get into the starting XI in the Premier League, but it would be good to see him get a run out in the FA Cup later this season.

Cardinals designated hitter Willson Contreras didn't like a called third strike while he was at the plate against the Pirates on Monday night.

As he faced an 0-2 count in the bottom of the seventh inning in a tight game, he was called out on strikes following a pitch that landed down in the zone. From the replay, the pitch appeared to be a strike, clipping the bottom of the zone, but Contreras still took exception.

He looked back at home plate umpire Derek Thomas and was ejected from the game, which caused him to get incredibly heated as the Cardinals coaching staff tried to hold him back. As he was pushed back toward the dugout, Contreras tossed his bat toward the field as he continued to yell at Thomas, and the lumber hit one of his own coaches.

When he eventually got into the dugout, an entire bucket of Hi-Chew was thrown onto the field, creating a messy scene the team's batboys had to clean up. It's unclear if Contreras tossed the bucket of candy or not. You can watch the wild sequence below:

Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol was also ejected per MLB.com's John Denton. Also, according to Denton, the coach that was hit with Contreras's bat was Brant Brown—St. Louis' hitting coach.

A lot of fallout for what appeared to be a correctly called strike. Despite the situation, the Cardinals held onto their lead and defeated the Pirates 7-6 Monday. We'll see if there's any further punishment following Contreras's outburst.

Some welcome news has come across Major League Baseball ahead of the postseason.

As announced by the league on Tuesday, MLB is set to officially implement an Automated Ball-Strike Challenge System (ABS) beginning next season. Each team will receive two challenges per game that they can use to dispute calls made by the home plate umpire.

ABS was used by MLB this past Spring Training and received rave reviews. The league will now carry it into the 2026 regular season with the same format, allowing pitchers, catchers, or batters to challenge a call after a pitch is made—with no help from the dugout or other players on the field allowed. If a challenge is ruled successful, the team will then keep said challenge.

While the rule change is likely not a direct correlation, Monday night's game between the Brewers and Padres—one with major playoff implications—saw home plate umpire Roberto Ortiz miss 25 calls as San Diego punched their ticket back to the postseason.

With ABS in place in 2026, we will no longer see such a travesty.
